Automation plants for transfer machines

The structure of a transfer machine is made up generally from a turntable where clamps hold the pieces being worked. Various work stations may be found around the table, positioned horizontally or vertically at 360°. Each station is built to perform a specific machining process on the piece that arrives in the work position. The “raw” piece is loaded into the machine, usually by a robot, and completes its machining station after station; on unload, the “finished” piece is ready for quality control.

The feature of the transfer machine is that of being able to produce large amounts of pieces with limited cycle times and therefore at a low cost as it makes use of the simultaneous operations of the various work stations.
